Celebrando Chicano Art Cheech Marin Museum Fundraiser Gala September 6th. 2018

backgroundThe Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture, and Industry of the Riverside Art Museum seeks to transform Riverside’s 1964 downtown library building into a world-wide center for Chicano art, culture, and industry. With a preliminary completion date of 2020, “The Cheech” will bring thousands of visitors to Riverside and the Inland Southern California region, and will have a significant impact on the local economy. Importantly, “The Cheech” will provide a place for all to see, study, and discuss the various intersections of Chicano art, a movement that transcends worlds, cultures, and experiences.

This year, Unidos will launch its inaugural gala, Celebrando Chicano Art on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. at The Riverside Convention Center. The gala will highlight and celebrate the historical importance of Chicano art, the versatility of contemporary Chicano artists, and the impact on communities throughout, in education, economic development, culture, and more. All of the funds raised will go towards The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture, and Industry!

Celebrando Chicano Art, with an expected attendance of 1000 including Cheech Marin and friends, will consist of a VIP reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. (for sponsors), dinner, awards, live performances, and both live and silent auctions.

Stay tuned as we announce the MC, Entertainment, Awardees, and more in the coming weeks!
